Led by:  Margaret Waterman

Departing from the University Center, 4th Floor registration area

Lewis and Clark stopped in Cape Girardeau on November 22, 1804, on their way to the Missouri River.  The Red House is built in the style of French colonial architecture of the period and is meant to represent the home of Louis Lorimier, the leader of the town at that time.  In addition to a docent-led tour of the Red House and its interesting exhibits, participants may choose to explore the ways in which biology is referred to in material goods.  Antique shops abound in the blocks near the Red House on Main Street and Spanish street. A map will be provided.  It will be a bit of a scavenger hunt, with sharing of finds (no purchases required) over the social hour.
