Driving Directions to Southeast Missouri State University
From the North (110 miles from St. Louis)
Take Interstate 55 south to Cape Girardeau. Take the second Cape Girardeau exit (Exit 96). Turn left at the top of the exit ramp onto William Street (Route K). Continue East on William approximately 2 miles. Cross the four-lane Kingshighway. At the next stoplight, West End Boulevard, turn left. Go through two sets of traffic lights (Independence and Broadway). After crossing Broadway, go one block and turn right onto Normal Avenue. TO GET TO THE UNIVERSITY CENTER: At the first stop sign on Normal, you will see a large, modern stone/brick building diagonally across the street. This is the University Center. Turn right at the stop sign, onto Henderson. Turn right immediately into the visitor’s parking lot. Go into the street-level entrance of the University Center (campus store directly ahead) and turn left. Take the elevator in that lobby to the 4th floor. Go slightly right when exiting the elevator, then left along the long, carpeted hallway.
From the South (175 miles from Memphis)
Take Interstate 55 north to Cape Girardeau. Take the Cape Girardeau exit for Rte K (Exit 96). Turn right off of the exit ramp onto William Street (Route K). Continue East on William approximately 2 miles. Cross the four-lane Kingshighway. At the next stoplight, West End Boulevard, turn left. Go through two sets of traffic lights (Independence and Broadway). After crossing Broadway, go one block and turn right onto Normal Avenue. From the East (Illinois)
Route 3 from the south (Cairo) or north joins with Illinois Rte 146. Take Illinois Route 146 to the turn for Cape Girardeau, and cross the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge into Cape. At this point, IL rte. 146 turns into MO rte. 74.) and continue straight to West End Blvd (third lights off the bridge). Turn right onto West End Blvd. Continue through three sets of traffic lights (William, Independence and Broadway.) After crossing Broadway, go one block and turn right onto Normal Ave. TO GET TO GET TO THE UNIVERSITY CENTER: At the first stop sign on Normal, you will see a large, modern stone/brick building diagonally across the street. From the West
From the Southwest, take Missouri Route 60 east to Interstate 55. Take Interstate 55 north to exit 96. (Or if from Kansas City, take I-70 East to 270 South to I- 55 south, and follow the directions for "from the North, above.) Turn right at the top of the exit ramp onto William (Route K). Continue East on William approximately 2 miles. Cross the four-lane Kingshighway. At the next stoplight, West End Boulevard, turn left. Go through two sets of traffic lights (Independence and Broadway). After crossing Broadway, turn right onto Normal Avenue.
